Kitchen Remodel Update

There will be a large blog about this soon with before and after photos but I am too excited not to post this!!! This is where we are at! It is so close!

Salon Spa W

I love Salon Spa W. I have been getting my hair cut there for years. I get to work with them from time to time. Yesterday I got to take a few headshots for their staff members. Here they are.

Trixies Salon

Got done with a shoot today for Trixie’s Salon on the South side of Des Moines. Here is my favorite shot of the day. This is Ari, by best friend Andy’s wife, my wife’s best friend and former bride of mine. What you don’t see in the picture is that she is ready to have a baby next week.

Joe and Katie!

Sometimes it is good for me as a photographer to put a little distance between the time I shoot the wedding and the time I edit the wedding. That way, I end up forgetting about some of the images I shot and I get to rediscover some of my favorite parts of a wedding day. I found some great shots that I don’t even remember taking. Also, I can’t say enough good things about my favorite second photographer, my beautiful wife Allison. She brings a fresh set of eyes every time we shoot together and I learn so much from her.

I need to mention how great it was working with Joe and Katie. They are absolutely beautiful inside and out and their wedding day was perfect! When we took their engagement pictures, Katie brought so many great ideas and you can see that that was just the beginning. I loved so many of the details starting with her accessories and continuing into honoring her parents and grandparents with their wedding dresses set up on mannequins at the reception. I am sure my simple paragraphs here don’t even begin to do it justice. Take a look at some of my favorite shots from the day here.

Belated: Jared and Tania

So things are finally slowing down for me so I am revisiting some of my shoots from this year that I want to share with my avid readers (are there any of you out there?)

My wife Allison and I got an amazing opportunity this year to travel to Los Cabos, Mexico for our dear friends’ wedding. We made a vacation out of the week and spent time on the beach, relaxing with family, and I got to go deep sea fishing. I could tell you so much more but I want to let some of the images tell the story.

Ok. So I am bad at blogging

To lighten things up, I want to give you guys a few of my favorite things, mainly food related.

What about you? What is on your HOT LIST right now?

Welcome Olive…

So, I am not a pet person. I was raised in a family that had kids instead of animals, but my wife Allison LOVES dogs. Her dreams are coming true on Thursday night when we bring home this lovely lady “Olive” as she will be called. She is a rescue that Allison put a lot of work into finding. I have never done anything like this so we will see how it all goes. My guess is that I will post many dog pictures in the future so hopefully you like that.

Also do you have any words of wisdom for me? Leave me a comment.
