It isn’t every day that you get an opportunity to shoot out of state weddings, much less one that is across the globe. My good friend from college, Kwesi invited me to photograph his wedding in Gaborone, Botswana. I am not proud to say that before he talked to me, I wouldn’t be able to point out where Botswana is on a map. Botswana is a stone’s throw from Johannesburg, South Africa and my travel time from my door to arrival (including layovers) was about 40 hours. I drove to Minneapolis, flew to DC, then flew through Dakar, Senegal then to Johannesburg, and finally up to Gaborone. I wish I would have taken more photos, I wish I could have brought my wife and daughter but I found myself enjoying the generous hospitality, the incredible weather, and great food. These photos don’t even come close to telling the whole story but I hope you can share some of this amazing week with a beautiful couple, inside and out.
